From NC and National 4-H:

  • NC 4-H Daily Spark Regular video and livestreamed lessons and activities. Our Facebook page includes daily posts that include activities you can do at home, often with multiple video lessons conducted by 4-H agents around the state. Don’t forget to like our page for updates year round.
  • NC 4-H YouTube Channel Videos of fun activities and learning opportunities from creative arts to science, and everything in between! You can also see the past 4-H Daily Spark sessions after their live broadcast.
  • National 4-H Online Website Make sure you check out the National 4-H Website, specifically the Activity Guide 20204-H STEM Lab and their educational activities for kids. Shop 4-H is also a good source to purchase specific curriculum kits and of course, 4-H gear!

From NC State University, NC A&T State University and N.C. Cooperative Extension:

  • The Public Science Lab  – This page contains teaching resources on various subjects as well as the Rob Dunn Lab. The Rob Dunn Lab is currently offering; COVID-19 Round Table Discussion, Never Home Alone Project (species found in the home), and a new Sourdough Project (the science of bread and microbes).
  • Now What? – Offered through North Carolina State University, Now What includes five easy to do outdoor activities.
  • Boredom Busters – More activities from the college of life sciences at NC State University to help families stay occupied including learning about seeds through popcorn, using vegetables to create dyes, and salt-dough ornaments.
  • Basecamp – Real-time project/activities/training ideas shared from other 4-H staff and professionals.
  • Grow For It: Garbage Can Gardening – A series of activities to grow plants at home from food waste such as pineapple tops, potatoes, and avocados.
  • Virtual Livestock Show – Showing From Home” – For your livestock youth…this event is being coordinated by NC State University’s own Brent Jennings and is open to youth in North Carolina that have market animals tagged for shows in March-June 2020.
  • NC 4-H Horse Program “Quarantime Lessons” – The North Carolina 4-H Horse Program is delivering “Quarantime Lessons” via live Zoom sessions on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Each week, a meeting link will be shared on social media, and on the calendar of events on the NC State University Equine Husbandry website.
  • Clover-tined Challenge – Using the 2019 NYSD materials and Scratch, youth (grades 4 – 12) will have 3 weeks to create a public service announcement related to being quarantined. The Challenge begins April 14!
  • #PassTheMicYouth – seeks to amplify the voices of young people by sharing their lived experiences and stories of activism through a podcast and blog.
  • The Science House Express – new K-12 virtual STEM content for teachers, parents, and students.

From Guilford County Schools:

  • Distance Learning During School Closures – School closure should not keep students from learning. GCS educators have developed and cataloged online resources that students can use to continue learning while schools are closed. Resources are divided by grade level.
