If you are interested in your child learning about and showing a dairy heifer, but don’t have the facilities necessary to do this on your own, this project is for you! Participants will gain hands-on learning experience with a dairy heifer and gain dairy knowledge and showmanship skills. This is limited to youths who reside in Rowan County, NC and are ages 5-18 (as of January 1).

This is a time commitment and all dates are listed at the rules & guidelines link below. Please register only if you can commit to the dates/times and can abide by all rules & guidelines.

Registration is first come, first served and due no later than July 3, 2023. There is a $20 registration fee. To register or ask questions, please contact laura_allen@ncsu.edu or 704-216-8970.

  • Opportunity for Rowan County youths ages 5-18 (as of January 1) to practice with and show a dairy heifer
  • Practice 2x per week for 8 weeks; parent must provide all transportation. All practice & show dates listed in rules.
  • $20 registration fee
  • Must enroll in 4-H at v2.4honline.com to participate
