Collapse ▲It’s time for the NC Dairy Producers Association Annual Meeting! Please make plans to join us on Thursday, March 24-25th, in Statesville. As you may recall, we received funding through NCDA&CS in 2020 to conduct studies to address COVID-19's impact on milk processing and milk movement in the state and greater southeast. Sara Dorland, Ceres Dairy Risk Management, conducted the studies and will be presenting her findings to several stakeholder groups. Her final report provides the framework for analysis on reform, highlights changes over time and discusses feasible solutions to reposition the local milk market. It also reviews Covid-19, the governmental response, and the impacts on the local market.
In addition to the Ceres presentation, we will also hear from Deputy Administrator Dana Coale and her team from USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service. They will discuss the function of federal milk marketing orders and be available for questions.
Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP before noon on Friday, March 18th, 2022. Note: If you cannot attend in person but want to join virtually, that option will be available; please complete the RSVP.
An executive summary of the report(s) will be sent prior to the meeting to all who RSVP.
In addition to presentations on Thursday, March 24th, at the Iredell County Extension Center, the NCDPA Board will host a listening and planning session on Friday morning, March 25th. Please plan to attend after you’ve had time to digest the topics of the previous day!
